Privacy Policy

Effective May 27, 2026 · Last updated May 27, 2026
Plain-English summary (not the legal version):
Your quotes, your customer names, your prices, your business info — all of it stays on your phone or computer. We do not have a database. We do not have your data. The only place we collect any data is on the marketing website (basic analytics that don't identify you) and when you actually buy Pro (the payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who is required by law to collect billing info to charge your card). We will never sell your data. We will never spam you. If you want any of it deleted, email us and we'll delete it.

This Privacy Policy describes how Brett Hawthorne, an individual operating as a sole proprietor doing business as "ZipplyQuote" ("we," "our," or "us"), handles personal information in connection with the ZipplyQuote application ("App") and the marketing website at zipplyquote.com (together, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The short version of how ZipplyQuote handles your data

ZipplyQuote is architecturally a local-first product. The quote data you type into the App — customer names, addresses, line items, prices, business profile, logo, tax rate — is stored on your own device, inside your browser's local storage (and/or IndexedDB). It is not transmitted to any server we control. It is not transmitted to us. It is not transmitted to any third party as part of normal use of the App.

The practical consequence is: we do not have a copy of your quote data, even if we wanted to. We cannot help you recover quotes if you wipe your device. We also cannot share, sell, or be subpoenaed for data we do not possess.

There are exactly three places personal information may flow into systems we or our partners control:

  1. The marketing website (zipplyquote.com) — anonymous, aggregate analytics described in Section 3.
  2. The purchase flow for Pro Lifetime — handled by Lemon Squeezy on our behalf, described in Section 4.
  3. Voluntary email contact with us (e.g., emailing support) — described in Section 5.

The rest of this policy covers each in detail.

2. Information we collect from use of the App

None, by design. When you use the App (whether the free tier or the Pro tier, online or offline, installed to your home screen or in a browser tab):

The App may load the following from public CDNs the first time you open it: the application code, fonts, and icons. After that initial load, the App caches itself and can run fully offline. None of these initial requests include data you typed; they're just the App fetching its own assets.

Where your quote data actually lives: In your browser's local storage, which is tied to the device and the browser you used. If you use the App in two different browsers, you'll have two separate stores. If you clear your browser storage, your quotes will be deleted (by you, not by us).

If we add an optional Cloud Sync feature in a future version of the App, we will update this Privacy Policy and that feature will be off by default and opt-in only.

3. Information collected on the marketing website (zipplyquote.com)

The marketing website (zipplyquote.com, including pages such as the landing page, pricing page, FAQ, this Privacy Policy, and the Terms of Service) uses privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic — for example, how many people visited from a particular country, which pages were most viewed, and which referring sources drove visits.

We use an analytics provider that:

Specifically, we use Plausible Analytics or a comparable privacy-respecting provider; if we change provider, we will update this section. You can opt out of all analytics on the marketing site by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, by using a content blocker, or by emailing us per Section 9.

The marketing site may, from time to time, embed third-party content such as a video player or a checkout iframe from Lemon Squeezy. Those embeds are subject to the privacy policies of the respective providers.

4. Information collected when you purchase Pro Lifetime

Pro Lifetime purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment partner, who acts as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. When you purchase, Lemon Squeezy collects (directly, on its own checkout page) the information it needs to process the payment, including:

Lemon Squeezy then provides us with limited order information so we can issue your license key and provide post-sale support. We receive:

We do not receive your full payment card number, your CVV, or your bank account information. Lemon Squeezy's collection and handling of payment information is governed by Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

We retain this purchase information for as long as is reasonably necessary to support our business and to comply with our tax and accounting obligations (generally up to 7 years for tax records). You may request deletion of your information per Section 9 (subject to legal retention requirements).

5. Information collected via direct contact (email, support)

If you email us at support@zipplyquote.com or hello@zipplyquote.com, or respond to our customer support, we receive whatever you send us — your email address, your name (if included), and the content of your message.

We use this information to:

We retain email correspondence for as long as we reasonably need it for support continuity and our own records — typically up to 3 years, longer if related to a refund or legal matter.

6. What we do NOT do

To be explicit, we do not:

If we ever change any of these, we will update this Privacy Policy with a clearly dated change and prominent notice on the marketing site.

7. How we protect data

We protect the limited data we do have using industry-standard practices:

No security system is perfect. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay, and in line with the applicable breach-notification laws of your jurisdiction.

The most important security protection is structural: the App is local-first by design, so the most sensitive data (your quotes, your customer information) is not held by us at all.

8. International users, GDPR, and CCPA

We welcome users from around the world. ZipplyQuote is operated from the United States.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland

You have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, including:

Our legal bases for processing under GDPR are: (a) performance of a contract — to deliver the App and your license; (b) compliance with legal obligations — tax records; and (c) legitimate interest — basic site analytics and support communications.

If you are a California resident

You have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us per Section 9. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

International transfers

If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service you consent to this transfer. Lemon Squeezy provides Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers of payment data as required by EU law.

9. How to contact us / exercise your rights

For any privacy question or to exercise any right described above, email support@zipplyquote.com with "PRIVACY REQUEST" in the subject line.

Please include:

We aim to respond to all verified requests within 30 days. Some requests may take longer if they involve coordination with Lemon Squeezy or require verification of identity.

10. Children's privacy

ZipplyQuote is a business tool intended for adults operating a business or trade. The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us per Section 9 and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — for example, if we add a feature that changes how data flows — we will update the "Last updated" date at the top, and we will post a notice on the marketing site for at least 30 days. Where required by law, we'll obtain affirmative consent before making material changes that adversely affect existing users.
